Big Brothers Big Sisters

Today’s youth face a variety of challenges, and being matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister can help them navigate these challenges and reach their potential. As a Big Brother/Sister, your role will be to give your Little the invaluable gift of friendship, and this can literally change their life.

Joni & Friends

Joni and Friends’ focus is on sharing the hope of the Gospel and giving practical help to people impacted by disability worldwide. They have had a tremendous impact on the church and communities around the globe for the past 40 years. Every summer they hold a family retreat for families impacted by disability. In these camps, the families are cared for, rejuvenated, and encouraged by a united Body of Christ. We send missions teams in the summer to volunteer at these camps as short-term missionaries, which can be a life-changing experience for those who go.

Loaves & Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is a weekly Saturday free lunch program. It is open to anyone seeking good food and fellowship in a safe, Christian environment, preceded by a brief bible-based teaching prior to eating. Volunteers get to fellowship with the people attending, and the other volunteers with a focus on building relationships and giving the gospel. The teachings are also volunteer led, making this an awesome opportunity for anyone looking to serve! The program is hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna and is a cool way to relate to our brothers and sisters over there!

Mimeo is a retirement home ministry where members of the church meet up with residents to spend quality time, build personal relationships, and share the love of Christ. Through the time that has been spent, and the relationships that have been built here, we have even been able to start a Bible study with the residents, led by volunteers.

True North

Since 2002, True North Ministry has liberated imprisoned youth, who not only are confined behind bars but who have also been confined by their life’s circumstances. We focus on the young men and women incarcerated in or paroled through the State and County correctional facilities. Currently, over 200 volunteers disciple and equip imprisoned youth with Christian-based programming.

Rahab is a safe haven for women with trauma. Many of the residents experience true family for the first time here. While they partner with Emerge Counseling Services to provide therapy specific to the needs of each sex-trafficking survivor who lives here, everything they do, from cooking classes to exercise, is trauma informed.
